Meet the Redress Design Award 2024 Finalists
Announcing the 10 Finalists of the Redress Design Award 2024, the world’s leading sustainable fashion design competition! Now, the Finalists are hard at work on bringing to life their outfits made from textile waste, to be showcased on the runway of the Grand Final Fashion Show in Hong Kong this September.
“History has proven that necessity is the mother of invention. The fashion industry can’t brush its textile waste crisis under the carpet any longer. It’s urgent and essential to drive circularity into fashion. These emerging fashion designers have no other option than to invent design solutions to waste,” said Dr. Christina Dean, Founder, Redress.
The Redress Design Award 2024 Finalists are:
Hugo Dumas, France
Louise Boase, Australia
Nguyen Thi Dung, Vietnam
Su Anli, Taiwan
Tian Ruyin, Mainland China
Tiger Chung, Hong Kong
Xue Wang, Italy
Zari Qanei, Iran
Representing a total of nine different regions worldwide including Hong Kong, the talented Finalists now vie for an exciting First Prize with our Exclusive Fashion Sponsor, Tommy Hilfiger: the opportunity to join the Tommy Hilfiger team and work on a sustainable design project for retail. Other prizes include high-performance sewing machines from JUKI, and all Finalists will receive a subscription to Bloomsbury’s online portal, the Berg Fashion Library.
Our panel of industry experts came together for a judging session to select the Finalists at Banyan Workspace, a venue with sustainability values. Find out more about the Judges here.
Next up, the 10 Finalists will send their completed collections to Redress for a professional photoshoot with Vogue Hong Kong, with the garments to be safely delivered via DHL Express. Then, the Finalists will come to Hong Kong for an educational bootcamp filled with intensive design challenges in partnership with TAL Group, Delta Global, and Tommy Hilfiger to sharpen their skills in sustainable design.
Public Voting for People’s Choice Award
In August, Redress will invite the global public to cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award, highlighting the importance for everyday consumers to play their part in tackling fashion’s growing waste crisis. The People’s Choice winner will be announced at the Grand Final in Hong Kong in September, which will be livestreamed for viewers across the globe.
