QUICK NAVIGATION • Meet the Designers | Our Favourite Moments | Judges | Partners & Sponsors
Our inaugural Mainland China competition was the first sustainable fashion design competition in the world’s largest garment-manufacturing nation in the world. We were relieved and proud to have received strong support from fashion designers, academic institutions, private sector and the media. Our primary focus was searching for emerging sustainable designers living in Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu. We held two press briefings, two seminars and three exhibitions in each of these cities to build our support networks. The grand final fashion show of 12 emerging fashion designers’ sustainable collections rocked and shocked our 500-packed Shanghai Fashion Week industry audience, who were eager to witness China’s fledgling emerging sustainable fashion scene. The prizes were to design a sustainable collection for Esprit; to visit John Hardy’s sustainable production facilities in Bali; to go on an educational trip to Hong Kong. All finalists received a membership with Source4style.
