Our inaugural competition cycle received promising support from fashion designers, academic institutions, private sector and the media as we opened this new chapter for sustainable fashion design in Hong Kong. We held our first lectures at our supporting organisations for fashion design students. We then broadened our educational scope with our well-received one-day business seminar, with a strong line-up of local and international speakers, targeted at fashion industry professionals. The grand final fashion show was presented to an industry audience of 400 guests at a private gala event at W Hotel in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The prizes were to design a sustainable collection for Esprit; to go on a cultural exchange trip to London in partnership with the British Council; and to visit John Hardy´s sustainable production facilities in Bali.
